Jeremy Jaech Named Verdiem CEO

Leading technology entrepreneur joins KPCB-backed enterprise energy management company

SEATTLE – December 3, 2008 —Verdiem, a provider of enterprise software solutions to reduce energy consumption of PC networks, announced today that Jeremy Jaech has joined the company as Chief Executive Officer. With his long-standing record of translating visionary technology instincts into triple-digit revenue growth and turning startups into industry leading corporations – including cofounding and leading Visio and Aldus - Jaech is expected to continue to build Verdiem’s market position and advance the company’s partner and channel relationships. As CEO, Jaech will lead all aspects of corporate development and strategy in broadening Verdiem’s impact and seizing evolving market and policy opportunities.

"Verdiem’s time has come and I’m excited to be part of it," said Jaech. "Not only do Verdiem’s products provide effective technological solutions to Global 2000 companies’ economic and environmental concerns, but the team’s deep development bench and green IT mission speak to a company that is poised for growth." Verdiem’s network and PC energy management software products, SURVEYOR and Edison, have generated significant deployment numbers with businesses and individuals alike. SURVEYOR has saved enterprise customers a combined $30 million in energy costs and 525,363,848 lbs of carbon – which is equal to taking almost 43,645 cars off the road, and since its August launch, Edison has generated more than 170,000 consumer downloads.

Jaech brings with him a track record of success and passion for shepherding companies and their product development into broad commercial use. Throughout his career, as CEO of companies such as Trumba and Visio--the business drawing and diagramming company eventually bought by Microsoft--Jaech has consistently built and led high-performance teams with a view towards translating visionary technology and business knowledge into revenue growth.

Venture capitalist firm Kleiner Perkins Caulfield & Byers’ Ted Schlein commented on Jaech’s appointment to CEO, stating, “Jeremy’s appointment represents an important transformation for the Verdiem and for the cleantech sector overall. The appointment of banner-name high technology CEOs to cleantech companies like Verdiem signals a maturing market with strong profit potential.” Schlein is on Verdiem’s Board of Directors.

Jaech received a master’s degree in computer science and a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from the University of Washington. Jaech replaces Kevin Kluster, who served as CEO from March 2006 to August 2008.
